Fan-out Gaps reveals the sub-questions AI engines explore when answering about your topics — and which ones your content doesn't yet cover.
What it does
When someone asks an AI a question, the engine quietly runs several related searches to build its answer (a "fan-out"). This tool surfaces those exact sub-questions for your topics and checks whether you have a page that actually answers each one.
What you'll see
- The sub-questions behind each of your topics.
- Which sub-questions you already cover, and which are open gaps.
- How often each sub-question comes up across your tracked prompts.
How to use it
- Open Content ▸ Fan-out Gaps.
- Review the uncovered questions, sorted by how often they appear.
- Turn the highest-value gaps into new sections on existing pages, or brand-new articles.
Tip: Answering the exact sub-questions AI asks makes your pages far more likely to be pulled into an answer. Pairs well with Analytics ▸ Query Explorer, which shows the same kind of gap from your real search data.
